To register for the Viking Congress you have to be nominated by your Viking Congress National representatives. A list of the nominees is found under participants.

Costs (all details found in the registration form):

Congress fee:

200€ (260€ if paid after June 10th), Students 120€ (150€ if paid after June 10th)

Accommodation in Reykjavík:

From 74€ to 202€ per night for single rooms and less if rooms (and costs) are shared

Reykholt package:

326€ (in double room) / 452€ (in single room, which are of limited number)

Post congress tour:

420€

A few tips before you register.

Because the Viking Congress is rather expensive for the participants, and the financial crises having reached other countries, some things have been made optional. Dining out in Reykjavik can be very expensive but more reasonable prices can also be found. The Congress lunches will be taken in the University cafeteria, which is at the low price end. Some may like to have their dinner there too, but others may want a little bit more. Therefore, dinners in Reykjavik are not included in the congress price.

For the same reason, accommodation in Reykjavik is quite open. Reykjavik has many hotels and guesthouses to choose from, and some participants may wish to search for better deals trough the internet than we could offer.

The rooms offered by the Congress are mostly student rooms and student apartments. The most expensive rooms are in a nearby Radison SAS hotel.

We assume that most of the participants will arrive on Sunday the 16th of August.

That means 4 nights in Reykjavik with accommodation options of your choice.

The Congress leaves for Reykholt on Thursday and stays there for two nights. In

Reykholt there is only one hotel so we have got a package price for meals and

rooms. The number of single rooms is limited, so the first to order will stand first in line.

The Congress tour is also a package price, with meals and accommodation included, and the bus takes all participants back to Reykjavik. After that you are on your own and you have to tell Gestamóttakan, the booking agency, if you want a hotel reservation in Reykjavik after the Congress tour, and for how many nights, or if you have other plans.

To calculate the total price you first have to make your choices.

When you register on-line, the amount will not be deducted from your credit card account immediately.

So by always choosing the cheapest alternative you can save up to 1000€
